Mack Guzda was first recalled to the NHL January, 2023 when the Panthers lost Sergei Bobrovsky to an injury. Guzda was recalled to dress as backup to Alex Lyon. He was sent back to the AHL after the game but a few days later he found himself back in the NHL when the Panthers shuffled he and Spencer Knight between the NHL club and AHL's Charlotte Checkers. He backed up Lyon for another two NHL games until Bobrovsky was ready to return to the lineup.
Mid-March the Panthers sent Alex Lyon to the Checkers for some playing time. Guzda was recalled to the NHL team to dress as backup to Bobrovsky.
Guzda's final stint in the NHL came towards the end of the regular season. He spent over a week with the Panthers while Bobrovsky recovered from an illness. He dressed in another five NHL games as backup to Lyon but never saw any time in the crease.
