April 1, 2024 the Penguins were at Madison Square Garden to play the Rangers. Goalies Tristan Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic took the warm ups but Jarry's minor illness worsened and he couldn't dress by the time it was ready for puck drop. A frantic call was made to EBUG Alex Fernandes, who quickly suited up and took Jarry's place. Fernandes started the game and was listed on the official scoresheet as backup to Nedeljkovic but wasn't needed.
