Matt Murray was supposed to start for the Ottawa Senators in their March 14, 2021 match against the Maple Leafs. Murray, however, was injured in warmup and Joey Daccord was given the unexpected start in net. The Senators quickly recalled Mandolese from their Taxi Squad to dress as Daccord's backup.
