Boris Rousson played his junior hockey in the QMJHL. He dressed in the 1989 Memorial Cup as a backup goalie with the Laval Titan. Rousson was traded the following season and in 1991 was named a QMJHL All-Star while playing with the Granby Bisons. He was signed by the New York Rangers in March, 1991 as a free agent.

Boris Rousson spent almost the entire month of February, 1992 as a member of the New York Rangers. He was recalled to serve as John VanBiesbrouck's backup while Mike Richter recovered from a right thigh muscle tear. Rousson dressed in all 11 games that Richter missed but never got the opportunity to see a minute of NHL action.

Rousson shared the 1993 Hap Holmes Award with Corey Hirsch as they put up the best goal against average numbers in the AHL through the 1992/93 season. It wasn't enough to impress the Rangers and in the summer of 1994 Rousson was left unsigned by the club.

Rousson packed his bags and traveled overseas, finding immediate success in Finland. He represented Canada at the 1994 Spengler Cup and was later named Finland's SM-Liiga's best goalie of the 1994/1995 season. He enjoyed a successful career in Europe until retiring in 2009. He has become a hockey coach in Germany since hanging up his pads.
